This is Bishop Holland Nimmons McTyeire’s personal copy of the dedication and inauguration of Vanderbilt University. As one of the most important figures in the history of Vanderbilt McTyeire’s particular copy is vital in telling the history of the university. It is ornately bound in leather and tooled in gold. The text block has become unattached to the binding and it shows where cellophane tape had been used to hold it together.
Treatment: Remove tape, reattach text block and repair binding. House in new clam shell box.
