Condition: Paper over board. Approx 8 signatures 3 to 4 leaves per fold. Paper quality poor. Gutters of signatures torn/split. Sewing has split. Paper on cover delaminating. Presently housed in tight fitting box that is damaging the book.
Treatment Options: Remove binding to release each signature. Remove all sewing. Mend the outer fold of each signature and throughout the text where needed and sew. Mend paper cover and boards along edges. Reback creating new spine and tone to blend. Reinforce inner joints. Create new housing: clamshell box w/ wrapper, Phase box
