Nicolaus Kesler’s second edition of St. Jerome’s letters, published in 1497. One of the oldest printed books in the library, the 1497 imprint includes an image of St. Jerome and the lion designed by Albrecht Dürer.
Treatment: Reattach boards, leather reback and replace original spine in place (with new lining materials in spine). Reinforce inner joints. Mend tail endband and reconstruct corners as needed. House in new clam shell box.
